Since the PreVeil account that gets created is permanently associated with this email address, it is important that personal PreVeil accounts be created with personal email addresses (not work email addresses).

You do not have to enter a password to create a PreVeil account. Your private key is your password. This makes for a much more secure account because:

  • No one can steal your key--it's never stored on a server

  • The encryption key is random and lengthy--it cannot be guessed

  • Keys are unique and not recycled--it's yours and yours alone

It's important once your PreVeil account is activated that you create a Recovery Code File. Without a Recovery Code File created, if you only have your account on one device and you delete PreVeil or lose your device, you will permanently lose access to all the data in your account.
