What folders exclusions should be set for antivirus or other scanning protection software?
Exclude the following folders from real-time and scheduled scanning:
C:\PreVeil
C:\PreVeilData
C:\Users\[Username]\Preveil-[PreVeil ID]
NOTE: This directory does not need to be fully excluded from scanning. Here are some approaches to prevent any data loss in PreVeil Drive from quarantined/blocked items:
Stop PreVeil Services while performing a scan of this directory path from the Key Menu system tray icon or from the Windows Services Console. Instructions to stop services from the Key Menu can be found here: Restarting PreVeil Services via the Key Menu on Windows
Set antivirus software scanning schedule outside of normal working hours and log OS users off to ensure their PreVeil services do not run during the scans.
In some cases:
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\PreVeil.CloudDriveProvider*
Subfolders should also be included in each exclusion.
Note: Including the * wildcard after a directory path ensures all nested subfolders are also excluded from antivirus scanning in most applications.
