I restored a computer backup and cannot access my PreVeil account
PreVeil uses asymmetric keys to manage identity and access to information. A user’s private key remains solely on a user’s device. One of these private keys is the device key which is used in conjunction with the User Key to authenticate communication to PreVeil’s servers. When a system is restored from, for example, an image the device key is duplicated which results in an invalid key. The key is not able to be authenticated by PreVeil’s servers.
The solution is two either copy your key from the former device to the new (also known as Add Device) or to recover your account.
