How to Move Files and Folders within Drive on the PreVeil Application
Note: There are currently some restrictions moving files or folders within Drive in the PreVeil browser application:
You can move files between any unshared folders in your Drive.
You can move files or folders within the same shared folder, if it is a folder tree structure.
You cannot move files or subfolders across separate top level shared folders.
Instructions for Moving in the Browser Application
Highlight the Item:
First, highlight the folder or file by checking the checkbox to the left of that item, as shown in the image below. Next, click the move button.
Select the Destination:
Next, select the location where you want to move the file. For example, in the screenshot below, you would select one of the subfolders. This action should make the Move button clickable. For this example, we are using a shared folder tree, so only locations within that shared folder are available for moving items.
Note: If the folder tree goes deeper, you can expand subfolders by clicking on the > icon to the left of them to access the subfolders.
Alternative Methods to Move Files between Top-Level Shared Folders
Using the Local Directory:
Click the Orange "Open in Explorer" button within the PreVeil application to open the local directory. You can move across shared folders here.
Alternatively, you can navigate directly to the local directory via the pinned folder in the navigation menu of Windows File Explorer to move the files.
You can move files and subfolders across shared top level folders in Drive here.
Important: Do not move an entire shared folder into another shared folder via the local directory using drag and drop, as this will cause sync issues in Drive. If you need to move the entire contents of a shared folder into another folder in Drive, please copy the contents of the shared folder in the local directory, paste those contents into the destination folder, and then if needed you can delete the original folder.
