Can someone see my data if they can get access to my computer?

Yes. Just like all other data stored locally, your PreVeil data is at risk if another party is able to access your phone or computer as yourself. Encrypted messages and documents have to be decrypted somewhere for the user to see them, and in PreVeil they are decrypted on the user’s phone or computer.

If someone is able to get past your phone or computer’s sign-in screen and/or biometric authentication, they will be able to access your decrypted emails and files. Note, however, that they will only be able to see the documents that are accessible to you – they will not be able to access other users’ information. We recommend you ensure passwords are enabled on all of your devices, they’re not easily guessable, and you change them periodically. If your device allows for multi-factor authentication, we strongly recommend you enable this as well for maximum data protection.
