What happens if I send someone a PreVeil email but they don’t have PreVeil?

Similar to What happens if I share a PreVeil Drive folder with someone who doesn't have PreVeil?, if you use PreVeil to send an email to someone who is not yet using PreVeil, your intended recipient will receive a personalized invitation asking them to join PreVeil.

When composing an email in the PreVeil browser app, you will see a visual indicator as to whether or not that intended recipient has a PreVeil account:

  • An orange stripe to the left of their name indicates they have a PreVeil account, and your email will be delivered into their PreVeil inbox.

  • A gray stripe to the left of the email address indicates they do not have a PreVeil account, and they will be sent an invitation to create a free PreVeil Express account.

  • Once the recipient creates their account, you will need to re-access PreVeil on your computer to release the email that you were trying to send to them, that email will remain in a hidden outbox in your account for up to two weeks. You will also receive an in-PreVeil notification confirming that your invitee has created a PreVeil account.
