Transferring Access of PreVeil Account to a New User Account on the Same Computer
Product
Full PreVeil for Windows or Mac
Scenario
When a PreVeil account is created on a Windows or Mac computer, access to that PreVeil account is partly based on the Windows or Mac user account that the PreVeil account was created under. This is because of a configuration that is enabled by default when you install the application called multi-tenancy. You can find more about what multi-tenancy does here: https://preveil.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ESD/pages/2404483075
There will be some scenarios where you will need to move to a new user account on your computer that include things like:
Your computer being moved to a new domain.
An MDM like InTune being applied to your computer.
Your existing user account profile becoming corrupted and needing to be replaced.
If you do need to move to a new user account this will affect your PreVeil installation unless proactive steps are taken to move your PreVeil account to this new user profile. The steps are as follows:
While on the existing user account, add your PreVeil account to a second device, like your phone for example: https://preveil.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ESD/pages/327057467
Uninstall PreVeil on the computer:
Sign into the new user account on your computer and reinstall PreVeil by going to preveil.com/download, downloading the installer package located there, and running it on your computer.
Use the https://preveil.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ESD/pages/327057467 process again to re-add your PreVeil key to the new user account from the second device.
