Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for (Encrypted) <first and last name>. Error: Cannot connect to the server.

Problem

Outlook may be unable to connect to PreVeil’s mail services running on the computer. PreVeil mail is different from other mail services in that it connects to your computer as opposed to a mail server on the internet. The issue may owing to the PreVeil software not running all of its services, an invalid or stale Outlook profile configuration, or the multi-tenancy.

Solution

First, run a Key Menu diagnostic to see whether PreVeil’s mail services: IMAP, SMTP, and Postlord are running, as well as the cryptography service Crypto. If these services are not running then try restarting services or reboot the computer.

Second, the issue may be with an incorrect or stale configuration. Try removing the PreVeil account and re-adding it.

Remove the PreVeil account by right-clicking the mail account and clicking Remove. Confirm that you would like to remove the account.

Re-add the account to Outlook.

The third reason may be owing to multi-tenancy. See how to disable multi-tenancy when using a single-user computer.
