Shared Folder Renaming Issue from Local File Systems

Shared Folder Renaming Issue from Local File Systems

This is a defect that will be fixed in the upcoming build version release, 5.8.5.

We are aware of an issue when renaming shared folders in the local PreVeil Drive directory from a local file system.

Issue

When a user renames a shared folder collection from a local file system (e.g., File Explorer or Finder), it gets unlinked from PreVeil’s cloud storage and becomes hidden in Drive’s Shared section in the web browser interface.

Result

The user who performed the rename will need to visit the Shared section in their PreVeil Drive in a web browser to unhide this unlinked shared folder.

  • NOTE: This issue only affects the user who performed the rename. Other users who have permission to this shared folder will still see the new folder name without having to go to their Shared section to unhide the folder.

Workaround

Users can rename shared folder collections in PreVeil Drive through their web browser interface by clicking on the three-dot button and going to Rename.

Once the folder details pane opens, the folder can be renamed as highlighted below.
