Sync Badges Missing in Local Drive Directory
In the local Drive directory in Windows File Explorer, you should see sync badges that indicate the status of data syncing from our servers into that local directory, like so:
There are three types of badges you will see here:
Green check mark - This indicates the data has been synced down from the server to the local directory.
Blue arrows - This means the data is the process of syncing down from the server to the local directory.
Red X - This indicates some kind of syncing issue, which you can either troubleshoot via the steps found here, or open a ticket with the Support team at PreVeil to assist you with.
However, if you do not see any badges at all, like so:
Then you may need to re-register the DLL file that will present those badges.
To re-register the DLL file, take the following steps:
In the Windows search bar, type in CMD. From the results for Command Prompt, select Run as administrator.
Depending on your level of administrator privileges for your Windows account, you may be prompted via a pop-up window to either:
Click Yes or No. If you get this option, click Yes.
Enter a username and password. If you get this option, it indicates your Windows profile doesn’t have the correct level of permissions to complete this step. If you have login credentials for an admin level Windows account on your computer, enter them in on this pop-up box. If you do not, then you will need your IT administrator to assist you with this step.
Enter the following command in the Command Prompt window when it opens, and then hit Enter: regsvr32 C:\PreVeil\findersync\PVShellExt.dll
Reboot your computer.
If the issue is resolved and the badges now show up, there is nothing additional you need to do. If the issue is not resolved and the badges do not show up, please open a ticket with the PreVeil support team here so that we can assist you with it.
