Whitelisting in Trusted Community vs. Whitelisting in Email Gateway

Whitelisting in Trusted Community vs. Whitelisting in Email Gateway

There are two areas in a PreVeil organization admin console where you can apply whitelisting of external parties: within the Trusted Community and within the Email Gateway. These two whitelists serve different purposes and are not related to each other; adding parties to the whitelist of one area will not affect any parties added to the whitelist of the other.

Trusted Community controls interactions among PreVeil tenant users and general PreVeil users. The Email Gateway whitelist controls email transactions between PreVeil tenant users and non-PreVeil email addresses.

Trusted Community

  • Whitelisting in the Trusted Community is for the ability to communicate with existing PreVeil users that have accounts outside your organization.

  • For any parties added to the whitelist here, you will be able to send emails and share PreVeil Drive data with them using your PreVeil account. PreVeil users outside your organization will also be able to send emails and share Drive data with any member of your organization.

Email Gateway

  • Whitelisting in the Email Gateway is for the ability to communicate with external parties that do not have PreVeil accounts.

  • Whitelisting in the Email Gateway will only apply to emails sent via PreVeil to non-PreVeil recipients, or emails from non-PreVeil users sent to members of your organization. This functionality does not extend to sharing data in PreVeil Drive.
