The feature you are trying to use is in a network resource that is unavailable

Problem

An installation is interrupted by a Windows installer message stating the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

Solution

  1. Solution 1
    Make sure that the Windows Installer service is running

  2. Solution 2
    Download the installer to a different location (such as a localhost location with the proper permission) and retry.

  3. Solution 3
    Run the Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter

  4. Solution 4
    Delete a specific registry key

Note: before making changes to the registry, create a backup. Go to File, Export and save the .reg file.

  1. Open a run dialogue window (Windows key + R) and type regedit and click OK

  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products

  3. Click Edit and Find and search for PreVeil until you find a ProductName that is PreVeil

  4. Delete the parent folder
    In the example it is CBB000FEAE9308348B06F36B0E4BA56A

  5. Retry the installation
