Individual User Settings for a Full PreVeil Account
Applies to: Full PreVeil on laptops or desktops
If you have a full PreVeil account, you will find your individual user settings for that account here in the application:
This article will discuss what functionality these settings provide.
Please note that this article is specific to full PreVeil account users. For PreVeil Express account users, please reference this article for your user settings options.
Profile
The Profile page will be where you can see the name and email address related to your PreVeil account.
You can also set email signatures here for emails you send in the PreVeil browser application.
If you set an email signature, it will be applied in emails you compose and send in PreVeil.
Approvals
If your account is associated with a PreVeil organization, and you are a member of an Approval Group within that organization, this section of your user settings will be where you can approve Data Export and Admin Management requests submitted to that Approval Group.
Activity Logs
This is where you will see entries related to activities you’ve taken with your PreVeil account.
Add to Mail Client
This is where you can take steps to integrate your PreVeil Mail with a third-party email client like Outlook or Gmail.
Device Management
This is where you can manage the devices you’ve added your PreVeil account to.
For the device that you’re currently accessing PreVeil on (listed as Current Device in the Status column), you can rename the device or disconnect it.
Renaming a device allows you to give it a more descriptive name than the default name PreVeil issues.
Disconnecting a device removes your PreVeil encryption key from that device. Caution: Your encryption key is what allows you to access your account, so if you disconnect your current device, this results in losing access to your account on that device.
For any devices listed as Active in the Status column, these are the additional devices you can access your PreVeil account on, and you have three options here: Rename, Lock, and Delete.
Renaming a device allows you to give it a more descriptive name than the default name PreVeil issues.
Locking a device locks the PreVeil application on that device so it cannot be accessed. A locked device can later be unlocked as well.
Deleting a device removes the PreVeil encryption key from that device. This is a permanent way of removing access to the PreVeil account on that device.
Add Device
This is the page you can come to if you want to initiate adding your PreVeil account from your computer to another device.
Recovery Group
If your account is associated with a PreVeil organization, and that organization administrator has assigned a recovery group to your account, this is where you will see who the members of that recovery group are.
Account Recovery
This is where a user can create, or delete and recreate, a recovery file for their account.
Recovery Approval
If your account is associated with a PreVeil organization, and you are a member of an Approval Group within that organization, this section of your user settings will be where you can approve Account Recovery requests submitted to that Approval Group.
