Desktop PreVeil Version 5.8.20 (Windows)
Release Date: April 1, 2026
PreVeil Desktop 5.8.20 for Windows introduces a major new administrative capability along with several improvements that enhance reliability, streamline workflows, and resolve user‑reported issues.
New Feature: Convert Full Users to PreVeil Express
Admins can now convert a full (desktop) PreVeil user into a PreVeil Express user directly from the Admin Console. This provides a streamlined way to support users who only need secure email access—such as contractors, temporary staff, or mobile‑only users.
During conversion:
The user receives a prompt to sign in to Web PreVeil.
They complete a short Express setup (password + 2FA).
Their account transitions cleanly to Express with all data preserved.
They no longer need the desktop app and can access their secure messages through the browser.
Admins can also create new Express users at the time of account creation, making it easier to onboard users who don’t require the full desktop experience.
