PreVeil Desktop 6.2.0 for Windows delivers a major platform modernization, migrating the Cloud Drive client to Python 3. This upgrade improves long-term performance, security, and reliability, and includes several installation and service improvements.

What's improved

Cloud Drive & installation

Resolved an issue where Cloud Drive status icons were missing in Windows File Explorer after upgrading to 6.2.0.
Fixed an issue where the PreVeil postlord service failed to start after installing the Cloud Drive for Windows build, which could cause diagnostics to report the service as stopped.
Cloud Drive and the IMAP service are now properly stopped during uninstall and upgrade, preventing leftover processes from interfering with the installation.
Key Menu update behavior has been brought in line with the rest of the desktop client for consistent update handling.

Security

Service paths installed by PreVeil in the Windows registry are now correctly quoted, addressing a privilege escalation vulnerability that could be flagged by security scanning tools.
