An email is sent to this address to verify your identity. Since the PreVeil account that gets created is permanently associated with this email address, it is important that personal PreVeil that PreVeil accounts for personal use be created with personal email addresses (not work email addresses).

You do not have to enter a password to create a PreVeil account. Your private key is your password. This makes for a much more secure account because:

  • No one can steal your key--it's never stored on a server

  • The key is random and lengthy--it cannot be guessed

  • Keys are unique and not recycled--it's yours and yours alone

We strongly recommend that you create a Recovery File, as this will allow you to recover your PreVeil encryption key should you need to do so. Your encryption key is what allows you to access your PreVeil account; if that encryption You do not have to enter a username and password to create a PreVeil account. Your private key is the method by which you will access your PreVeil account. This makes for a much more secure account because:

However, if that private key is lost you will not be able to access your PreVeil account. We strongly recommend that you create a Recovery File, as this will allow you to recover your PreVeil private key should you need to do so. If a Recovery File is not created at the time of the account creation, you can create one later via the instructions found here.
