Cloud Lock is available on desktop version 5.5.1 and end users must have it installed to receive the setting changes. Go to preveil.com/download for the latest installer.
The Cloud Lock setting is an administrative feature that can be enabled or disabled at the organization level. By default, the setting is disabled.
When Cloud Lock is Enabled
Sync Rules Disabled: The sync rules for all folders across all organization members are set to "off" mode, preventing users from enabling sync on their folders.
Local Storage Impact: Folders with sync disabled are removed from the local computer’s storage system and will not be found in the mapped folder.
Notification: Organization members receive an email notification when the Cloud Lock setting is enabled.
When Cloud Lock is Disabled
User Control Restored: Disabling Cloud Lock allows users to manage their folder sync rules independently.
Sync Rules: Toggling Cloud Lock from "on" to "off" does not restore previously set sync rules. All folders will remain in "off" mode when Cloud Lock is enabled.
