Email Gateway allows a PreVeil user to be able to exchange email with a non-PreVeil recipient. PreVeil typically operates on a closed network, which means that a PreVeil user can only communicate with other PreVeil users. The Email Gateway allows you to extend past that closed network and makes PreVeil mail transparent to the email recipient.
Note: Email Gateway is an add-on that needs to be purchased before it can be configured and utilized. To inquire about purchasing Email Gateway, please open a Sales support ticket here.
Note: Once Email Gateway has been purchased, a member of the PreVeil Technical Customer Support team will work with you to get it configured and ready to use. Part of this configuration will be done in the Email Gateway section of the PreVeil Admin console, and part will be done on the Email Gateway server itself.
To access the Email Gateway settings:
In the Admin console for your PreVeil organization, select Email Gateway from the left-hand menu.
The settings you can configure here are:
Gateway User ID - This will be the email account set as the Gateway user. You can create the Gateway user account in the Users section of the Admin console. The Gateway user is responsible for transferring any emails using the Email Gateway to the Email Gateway server.
Connectivity Test - Allows you to test the connectivity to the Email Gateway server.
Enabling Email Gateway - You will need to enable the Email Gateway by moving the toggle to the on position.
External Email Addresses - This is where you will details the email addresses of those non-PreVeil users that you want to use Email Gateway to communicate with.
You can add individual email addresses or entire email domains to this list.
There are two options to start adding addresses, either the Add to Email Gateway List button, or the + button in the menu bar.
You can also remove entries from the list via the trash can icon in the menu bar,
