We are excited to announce the release of PreVeil 5.3.0-beta.8, packed with new features and improvements to enhance your experience. Please note that this is a beta build and is not intended to replace the production version. As with any beta software, there may be defects and issues that we are actively working to resolve.

Selective Sync Feature in Drive

With the new selective sync feature, you can now enable sync on folders nested deep within a folder hierarchy without needing to sync all the folders and files in the path. This allows for more efficient use of storage and bandwidth, giving you greater control over which files are synced to your device. Additionally, we’ve addressed issues such as:

  • Sync status of parent and folders changing when migrating to the selective sync supported build.

  • Syncing failed errors when trying to sync V1 collections.

  • Conflict files created after syncing a folder.

  • Admin activity logs displaying “enable_selective_sync” for both syncing and unsyncing folders.

Collection Rename

We have introduced the collection rename feature, which ensures that shared folders renamed by one user will automatically sync and update for all other participants of the folder. This means that any changes to shared folder names will propagate seamlessly to other users, keeping everyone on the same page. Please note that other folder participants must be on build 5.2.5 or higher to find changes. We’ve also fixed issues related to:

  • Collection rename being reverted back to all previous names one by one.

  • Conflict folder names being created for Desktop PreVeil, Web PreVeil, and Web Express PreVeil users when a folder is renamed by a WPV user.

  • Collection rename being reflected for the folder owner only after the folder is synced.

  • Sporadic issues where folder rename is not available for shared subfolders.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

This release also includes several bug fixes and improvements to Drive sync and other issues. Some of the key fixes include:

  • Disabling rescan.

  • Handling issues regarding migration to avoid stalling the sync manager.
