Add PreVeil to Outlook on Windows
Read this article if you have already installed PreVeil on your Windows PC, and you are ready to add PreVeil to Outlook.
Before you begin, ensure Outlook is closed.
1 . To install PreVeil in Outlook, click the "Add PreVeil to Outlook" button at the end of your PreVeil account creation process...
1.1. ...or go to the Settings menu at preveil.com/app, and select the Add to Mail Client option.

To get to your PreVeil account quickly, double-click the PreVeil shortcut on your desktop or in your Start menu.
2. When you click the "Add to Outlook" option on the Settings menu, the following screen displays. Click the "Add PreVeil to Outlook" button.
3. The installation into Outlook begins. A screen appears briefly indicating that PreVeil is being added to Outlook. When the installation is complete, this message displays at the top of the PreVeil Settings window for your account.
4. When the installation is complete, you will find your existing messages, including a Welcome email from PreVeil, in your new PreVeil mailbox in Outlook.
4.1 If you do not see your new PreVeil Mailbox in Outlook as illustrated above, find and click the right arrow at the top right of the left pane (just below the Menu bar) to expand your Mailboxes as shown below. Then click the pushpin to anchor the inbox in place.
5. Click Inbox below your PreVeil email account to view the Welcome message in your new inbox.
If you have at least one other existing email account in Outlook before you install PreVeil, the PreVeil email inbox will have a special designation of (Encrypted) in front of it as shown above. If the PreVeil account is your only email account in Outlook, it will have no special designation.
Use PreVeil on Windows Outlook
If you have not yet integrated your PreVeil account into Outlook, please read Add PreVeil to Outlook first.
Use your new PreVeil email account in Outlook the same way you would use your regular Outlook email account.
If you have more than one email account in Outlook and you want to send email from your PreVeil account, you must select the PreVeil account in the From field of the Outlook new message window.
If you do not see the From field when you are composing a new message, go to the Options menu in the new message window (not the Outlook main window), and in the Show Fields section, select From. This adds the From field to all of your new email messages.
Using your PreVeil email account, send emails to other PreVeil users or non-PreVeil users. You can attach files and other Outlook messages to your message; link text within the email; and format text just as you do with regular Outlook email. All content is encrypted until it reaches the recipient.
Outlook also allows you to drag and drop attachments in your emails.
If any of the recipients of your email are not PreVeil users, you will receive the following message, and that recipient is invited to join PreVeil.
It's important that once your PreVeil account is activated on your device, you configure your recovery settings. Without a Recovery Group configured, if you only have your account on one device and you delete PreVeil or lose your device, you will permanently lose access to all the data in your account.
