What is Email Gateway?

  • Email Gateway allows users within a PreVeil organization to be able to exchange email with recipients with a non-PreVeil address.

  • Email Gateway is an add-on that must be purchased before it can be configured and utilized. To inquire about purchasing Email Gateway, please contact sales@preveil.com

  • Once it has been purchased, a member of the PreVeil Technical Customer Support team will work with you to start an Email Gateway project.

Email Gateway allows a PreVeil organization to be able to exchange email with a non-PreVeil address. PreVeil operates on a closed network, which means that a PreVeil user can only interact with other PreVeil users. The Email Gateway allows an organization to communicate outside of the platform in a seamless experience for outside parties.

Note: Once Email Gateway has been purchased, a member of the PreVeil Technical Customer Support team will work with you to start an email gateway project.

To access the Email Gateway settings:

  • In the Admin console for your PreVeil organization, select Email Gateway from the left-hand menu.

The settings you can configure here are:

  • Gateway User ID - This will be the email account set as the Gateway user. You can create the Gateway user account in the Users section of the Admin console. The Gateway user is responsible for transferring any emails using the Email Gateway to the Email Gateway server.

  • Connectivity Test - This allows you to test the connectivity to the Email Gateway server.

  • Enabling Email Gateway - You will need to enable the Email Gateway by moving the toggle to the on position.

  • External Email Addresses - This is where you will name the email addresses of the non-PreVeil users that you want to use Email Gateway to communicate with.

    • You can add individual email addresses or email domains to this list.

    • There are two options to start adding addresses, either the Add to Email Gateway List button or the + button in the menu bar.

  • You can also remove entries from the list via the trash can icon in the menu bar,
