In PreVeil Drive, you have the ability to generate a link to a folder or file that you can then share with another PreVeil user to have them access that folder or file.

  • This is an ease of access functionality that allows you to direct someone to a folder or file that you want them to access via a URL link you can generate and send to them.

  • Because Drive data needs to be explicitly shared with someone before they can access it, the links will work only for people you’ve already shared the data with.

  • Sending a link to someone who you’ve not already shared the data with will not grant them access to the data.

Generating a Link to a Folder

To generate a link to a folder:

  • Access PreVeil Drive in the browser app.

  • Mouse over the folder you want to generate a link to

  • Click on the link icon.

  • You will see a notification that it has been copied to your clipboard.

  • Send the link with someone to whom you’ve already shared access to the folder.

  • When the recipient clicks on the link, it will bring them directly into the folder in their PreVeil Drive.

Generating a Link to a File

You can also generate a link to a file.

Note: The file must be within a shared folder that the recipient already has access to.

  • Access PreVeil Drive in the browser app.

  • Mouse over the file you want to generate a link to

  • Click on the link icon.

  • You will see a notification that it has been copied to your clipboard.

  • Send the link with someone to whom you’ve already shared access to the folder that the file is within.

  • When the recipient clicks on the link, it will open the file in the viewer window in Drive.
