Generating Links to Folders and Files

In PreVeil Drive, you have the ability to generate a link to a folder or file that you can then share with another PreVeil user to have them access that folder or file.

This is an ease of access functionality that allows you to direct someone to a folder or file that you want them to access via a URL link you can generate and send to them.
Because Drive data needs to be explicitly shared with someone before they can access it, the links will work only for people you’ve already shared the data with.
Sending a link to someone who you’ve not already shared the data with will not grant them access to the data.

Generating a Link to a Folder

To generate a link to a folder:

Access PreVeil Drive in the browser app.
Mouse over the folder you want to generate a link to
Click on the link icon.

You will see a notification that it has been copied to your clipboard.

Send the link with someone to whom you’ve already shared access to the folder.

When the recipient clicks on the link, it will bring them directly into the folder in their PreVeil Drive.

Generating a Link to a File

You can also generate a link to a file.

Note: The file must be within a shared folder that the recipient already has access to.

Access PreVeil Drive in the browser app.
Mouse over the file you want to generate a link to
Click on the link icon.

You will see a notification that it has been copied to your clipboard.

Send the link with someone to whom you’ve already shared access to the folder that the file is within.

When the recipient clicks on the link, it will open the file in the viewer window in Drive.
