PreVeil Express Account Recovery Guide

To recover your PreVeil Express password, you must have set up a Recovery Code file in advance. As of June 18, 2024, Express users can find an Account Recovery option in the settings menu.

Creating a Recovery Code File

  1. Navigate to the Account Recovery option in the settings menu.

  2. Click on Download Recovery File to save the PDF to your local file system.

  3. The downloaded file, named password-recovery-file with a timestamp appended, contains your username and a text code.

Recovering Your Account

The account recovery process involves three steps:

Step 1: Initiate Password Recovery

  1. Visit http://web.preveil.com and enter your username.
    For a direct link, go to https://web.preveil.com/forgot-password.

  2. Click on the Forgot your password? hyperlink.

A verification email will be sent to your registered email address.

Step 2: Email Verification

  1. Check your inbox for an email from verification.no-reply@preveil.com.

  2. Note the verification code provided in the email.

  3. Enter this verification code on the webpage within 15 minutes to verify your identity.

Step 3: Second-Factor Authentication

  1. Complete the second-factor authentication process. In this example, it is SMS authentication.

  2. Enter the Account Recovery code from your Recovery Code file in the provided textbox.

Step 4: Reset Your Password

  1. Set a new password and confirm it.

  2. Once your password is successfully changed, you will be redirected to your account page.
