The PreVeil integration currently does not work in the new Outlook interface, so we recommend that you remain on the current version of Outlook if you wish to integrate PreVeil with your Outlook client.

Prior to configuring Outlook, please access your PreVeil account in a browser, click on Settings, then Add to Mail Client, then scroll down and click on the Click here for instructions to manually add PreVeil to other email programs (Outlook on Mac, etc.) This page will have information you’ll need on some of the configuration steps below.

  • On the computer that you want to integrate PreVeil Mail with Outlook, go to the Control Panel, and then select the Mail option.

(Note: In this example it’s called Mail (Microsoft Outlook), but this option may have a slightly different name depending on the version of Outlook installed on your system.)

  • Click on Email Accounts.

  • Click on New.

  • Select Manual setup or additional server types, and then click Next.

  • Select POP or IMAP, then click Next.

  • Fill out the following fields with the necessary information:
    Your Name: Your name
Email Address: Your PreVeil email address
    Account Type: IMAP
    Incoming mail server: 127.0.0.1
    Outgoing mail server (SMTP): 127.0.0.1
User Name: your PreVeil email address
Password: copy and paste from manual instruction page in browser

Check off the Remember password box.

  • Once that information has been entered, click on the More Settings button.

  • On the General tab, rename the name of the account to follow this naming protocol: (Encrypted) [your name].

  • On the Outgoing Server tab, check off the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming server options.

  • On the Advanced tab:

In the Incoming server (IMAP) field type in 4000, and select None from the Use the following type of encryption connection drop down menu

In the Outgoing server (SMTP) field type in 4001, and select None from the Use the following type of encryption connection drop down menu

    Then click OK.

  • Back on the Change Account box, click Next.
