Are there invalid characters for file names?

Yes, there are certain reserved characters in PreVeil Drive. The use of the following characters are not permitted in files names in PreVeil Drive and mail folders

  • < (less than)

  • > (greater than)

  • : (colon)

  • " (double quote)

  • / (forward slash)

  • \ (backslash)

  • ? (question mark)

  • * (asterisk)

  • & (ampersand)

If a file is added with a reserved character in browser-view an error message will appear, however, the same is not true when using the local file system or a third-party application. Please be aware that files with reserved characters will fail to synchronize.
