What is Multi-Tenancy?

Multi-Tenancy is a configuration that is enabled by default when you install PreVeil on your computer. It is used to segregate PreVeil accounts on a shared computer where multiple people will be accessing their individual PreVeil accounts, and it makes it so that each user will only see their own PreVeil account data when they are logged into the computer with their Windows profile.

Note: Even with Multi-Tenancy enabled, if a user logging into that device is doing so with an administrator level Windows account, they will still have the ability to see other users' PreVeil Drive data within the locally synced Drive folders in Windows File Explorer.

How to Properly Create PreVeil Accounts on a Shared Device to Use Multi-Tenancy

It is important to note that there are steps that you will need to follow to ensure that Multi-Tenancy is applied properly on a shared computer. Each individual user will need to be logged into the computer with their own Windows profile when they create their respective PreVeil accounts. Failure to do so will result in their PreVeil local sync directories being created in the wrong place, and may have an adverse effect on their access to their PreVeil Drive data.

Does PreVeil need to be Installed for Each Individual User on a Shared Computer to Use Multi-Tenancy?

No, the PreVeil installation is a global installation, meaning that once the application has been installed under one Windows profile, it will be accessible for any other user that logs into that computer.
