Use PreVeil on Android
Â
Use the PreVeil email account on your Android device as you would your normal email application. Send encrypted emails to other people with PreVeil accounts. If you send an email to anyone who does not have a PreVeil account, they will receive an email from PreVeil inviting them to install PreVeil before they can view your email.
Â
Open PreVeil
Find and tap the PreVeil icon on your device.
Â
PreVeil settings on Android
You can use the PreVeil Android app to send and receive encrypted email, or store and share encrypted files. You can also use it to do a number of things related to your PreVeil account. You can do these things from the Settings screen, accessed by tapping the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
On the Settings screen, you can:
Set up a recovery group
Add a device (copy your private key)
View and manage devices
Approve another account recovery
Disconnect your account
Access the Help Center
Â
Recovery Group
Set up a recovery group as soon as you create a new PreVeil account on your Android device. Without a Recovery Group configured, if you only have your account on one device and you delete PreVeil or lose your device, you will permanently lose access to all the data in your account.
PreVeil allows you to recover your account by setting up a Recovery Group – a group of individuals you trust who will let you regain access to your account in case you lose your devices. Recovery Groups use PreVeil's Approval Group Technology, which is a patent-pending method for recovering your private key without giving anybody (even members of your recovery group) access to your account or your data.
Â
Add Device
This option allows you to copy your private key from another computer, tablet, or phone (where PreVeil is installed) onto the Android device you are on when you select this option.
Â
Disconnect Your Account
Use this option to remove your PreVeil account from your Android device.
Caution: If you do this, and you do not have PreVeil installed on another device, or you have not set up a recovery group, you will permanently lose access to all the data in your account.
Â
