How do I know if someone has PreVeil?

Since no unencrypted emails can ever show up in your PreVeil inbox, anyone who has communicated with you using PreVeil already has an account.

When you’re using the PreVeil iPhone/iPad app or the PreVeil Web Mail client and you enter recipient email addresses, you’ll see a color-coded notification that indicates whether the email address you entered is a PreVeil member. As seen in the picture below, an orange vertical bar means that the email address is associated with a PreVeil account, while a grey vertical bar signifies that the email address is not for a PreVeil member.

At this time, this visual notification is not present in Outlook or Apple Mail.

When you’re composing a new encrypted email from Outlook or Apple Mail, be sure to select your PreVeil inbox in the "From" field*. If you know your intended recipient has a PreVeil account but also has multiple email addresses, select the email address associated with their PreVeil account. When you enter an email address with a valid PreVeil account, it should resolve to the PreVeil account holder’s name.
