Managing your devices
Device Management can be accessed from the sidebar your account's Settings.
Â
Â
This page displays all devices that have your PreVeil account on them, and the status of those devices.
Â
The device status will show as Current Device, Active, or Locked.
Current Device is the device the user is using to access their account at that time.
Active devices are any other devices that have access to the user's PreVeil account - this could be a mobile device, a Windows PC, or a Mac computer.
If a device is Locked, it will be blocked from accessing your account data until you unlock or delete the device.
Â
You may want to rename your devices to prevent confusion if you have several devices of the same type - for example, multiple Windows computers. To rename a device, click on the 3-dot icon next to the device you want to rename. Click "Rename," then type in a new name for that device.
Â
If you lose or misplace a device, you can disable its access to your PreVeil account by locking that device. To lock a device, click on the 3-dot icon next to the device you want to lock. Click "Lock" to disable access to the account from that device, then click the "Yes, Lock Device" orange button to confirm.
Â
The Current Device can never be locked, only other Active devices.
Â
You can always unlock a Locked device from any other device that has access to your PreVeil account. To do so, simply go back to the same menu and select "Unlock," then confirm you wish to unlock the device.
To completely remove your PreVeil account from a device, you can Disconnect or Delete the device. Performing either action will remove your account keys from that device. Only Active or Locked devices may be deleted, and only the Current Device may be disconnected. To delete or disconnect a device, click on the 3-button navigation correlating with the device to be removed. Then click, "Delete" or "Disconnect" and confirm the action you wish to take.
If you are disconnecting your Current Device, you will be redirected to the Choose Account page. If you do not have any other PreVeil accounts on that device, this list will be empty; otherwise, you will be able to select another PreVeil account you have added to your device.
Â
To avoid total account loss, you cannot Disconnect your only device unless you have set up a Recovery Group.
